Behold, God is Making All Things New (including you!)
For those of you who have been following this 31-day series on our identity in Christ, you know that it has been quite a journey! We took a look at life before salvation in Jesus and the consequences of our slavery to sin and death. In contrast, we learned about who we are now in Christ according to His Word. We are alive and free! But the truth is that none of this matters unless we act upon our new identity. We have to walk in it in order for it to affect our lives as well as the Kingdom. God is making all things new, and He longs to use us in His ultimate plan for mankind’s redemption.

You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. – Ephesians 4:22-24 (NIV)
You are valuable to God…
God’s plan for His creation includes newness and fullness of life. Even though sin entered the world through Adam and His creation was tainted, God still saw us as worthy of saving. This truth always blows my mind… that even in our sin, Jesus died to save us. Even when we were enemies of God, He made a way for us to become His children.
You are precious to God. You are a person of value. Think about it this way. An item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. This is true of nearly everything we buy. Well, you were purchased at the highest price… even while you were still unclean and lost in your sin.
Walking in the truth…
The enemy wants you to feel bad about yourself. He wants to steal your identity. But you must remember that he can’t change the truth. Even when you don’t feel holy and righteous, you are. Even when you don’t feel like God’s child, you are. And even when you don’t feel strong and set free from fear, you are. The enemy cannot steal this identity from you. But he CAN make you believe a lie so that you don’t walk in your God-given identity.
This is so important for us to recognize as Believers. We can only be effective for God when we know who we are in Him AND walk in that truth. It’s not enough to know… we have to live it. We have to live victorious and strong in Him. We have to be the hands and feet of Jesus as the body of Christ. And we have to allow the love of God to flow through us as His children so that we can impact the world and expand the Kingdom of our King.
God is making all things new… including you! So, what steps are you taking to walk in this truth?
